The secret window

Johnny Depp interprets the successful writer Mort Rainey, that is suffering a blockade in his inspiration and he has withdrawn to a solitary house next to the lake, facing a divorce with his woman, Amy (Maria Beautiful), after discovering his infidelity with Ted Milner (Timothy Hutton, who also he interpreted to Thad Beaumont, in the movie with similar theme of Stephen King The Dark Half), who now is its boyfriend. Living alone in the forest, Mort a day with the mysterious one is faced John Shooter (John Turturro) who accuses him of kidnapping. Shooter gives to Mort a manuscript that assures to have written. At the beginning, Mort is taken to Shoother as a sick mental one and throws the book. But its maid removes him of the trash believing that he was of Mort and instead of throwing it again, he cannot stop of thinking on him, so he reads him. He is almost exactly equal. The movie shows the desperate intents of Mort to test before Shoother and before itself that has not plagiarized the history. Shoother hounds him continuously and finishes killing its dog. Shoother explains that what desires is that Mort change the end (as Shoother there was it written, since the writings differ a little) and publish it, citing to John Shooter like the author. Comply the history progresses, Mort hires a private detective (Chat S. Dutton) and asks the aid of the sheriff of the place, which does not believe him. The investigator asks him if there is some witness, and Mort recalls a man of the town that saw them together. But then Shoother murderous to the investigator and to the witness and leaves them in a car. Mort pushes the car toward the river, thinking that the corpses would accuse him. Shoother also burns the house that was of Mort and their woman (not yet they were legally divorced). Mort is convinced that Ted sent to Shoother. Mort manages to locate the magazine that tests that he published "The secret window" before that Shoother to write "Epoch of sowing". He goes to the post office and he collects the story. But when the car leaves, the sheriff surprises him with a smile asking him if would be able to ask some questions. Then Mort goes. But when Mort sees the magazine, realizes that its story has been trimmed. The conscience of Mort says that since the magazine was sent him in an envelope of mail sealed; Shooter would not be able to have opened. Suddenly its conscience causes sees him that Shoother is not real, alone a figure of the imagination of Mort very real so that can live without be detected him an inconvenience of identity disociativo and to personify the dark side of its personality and to commit acts that the own one Mort would not be capable of do (to murder and to set on fire). During this revelation, Amy is directed to his house, and in that instant he changes his identity of the good one of Mort to the murderous one Shooter. When his former-woman arrives he already has gone. She begins to seek him in the house and he finds a bottle of Jack Daniels almost empty on the table. Later we learn that when he is influenced by Jack Daniels, the second personality of Mort, Shoother, he revives. In all the walls in which Amy sight is found inscriptions of the word "shooter". She realizes later than the own Mort he reveals that "Shoother" he signifies in reality "Shoot her" (translated to Spanish, "you shoot him" (to her), "kill it"). After discovering this she tries to escape but Mort is too fast for her. Then murderer to its former-woman and to its lover, Ted, with a spade and buries them in a garden where later plant corn. After all this, Mort changes deeply: the blockade of its inspiration disappears and its passion by the life returns. The movie, nevertheless, finishes with an especially sinister note. The sheriff local informs Mort that he knows what did and as quick as he find the bodies, he will enclose to Mort. He subtracts him importance unworried, and answers that "The end is the most important part of a story. This is very good. This is perfect." Then it is revealed that cultivating and consuming corn of the garden where its former-woman and its lover are buried, Mort is trying to destroy all the necessary evidences to incriminate him.
